Career Orientation and Review (CORE). To date, the UP Kalilayan claims a string of accomplishments. The organization has produced several honor students excelling in their fields of profession, in which the organization attributes to UP education. Thus, in recognizing that the university is the premier in the country, UP Kalilayan introduces UP education to Quezon province through CORE. It is a whole day event where participating graduating high school students are introduced to college life, the courses in all UP units and are given a mock UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) and a review. This year, the organization reached out to more than 400 students from eight municipalities. [top]

Anniversary Month. As Kalilayan commemorates its 28 years of existence, several activities have been presented. Starting with an opening mass and a grand opening, the organization looks back for all its blessings and look forward to another year of meaningful service. A photo exhibits showcasing the beauty and festivities of Quezon province and a symposium discussing the same topic creating awareness to the UP community. In an Open Tambayan, they invite everyone for a free taste of Quezon's delicacies. There is also sporstfest, quiz show, kali-pyestahan, amazing race and other bonding activities. The month long celebration culminates with an Alumni Homecoming Party. [top]

Tagisan. Through the years, this event has served as a venue for discovering intellectual and artistic prowess of the high school students from the provinces of Quezon and Aurora. The activity consists of a Photo-Art Exhibit, Quiz Show, Essay Writing Contest, Poster Making Contest and Extemporaneous Public Speaking Contest. Tagisan is designed to enhance the students' value of teamwork and the joy of friendly competition. It is also through Tagisan that the participants develop social consciousness through the socially relevant themes given each year. Once again, it is the greatest hope of the organization to mold young minds and hone special talents through recognition of evident and significant role of the youth in the continuing struggle for true development. Now in its 18 th year, Tagisan again highlights the dynamism of the organization's struggle for academic and social development. [top]

Free Medical and Dental Mission. As a Christmas gift to less fortunate fellows, the UP Kalilayan offers free dental services, medicine and consultation. This year it was held in the municipality of Mulanay, Quezon in cooperation with the UP Uganayan ng Pahinungod and the local government. The activity reached out to more than 400 patients. [top]

Neil Eria Educational Discussion Series (NEEDS). In memory of one of its dedicated members, NEEDS serves as a venue where relevant issues and concerns of the provinces and the country are discussed. With this year's theme, “Manguna ang Matibay: A Leadership and Team-building Seminar”, the group emphasizes the need for a new kind of leaders who will hopefully make a difference in our society. This was done with the help of speakers: Ms. Krissy Conti of STAND-UP, Mr Al Ian Barcelona and Ms Leah Edrosalan, both from Office of the President-Youth Affairs Office and Mr. Jerome Suarez, former executive director of the organization.
